Antonia Sautter is the pulsating heartbeat of Il Ballo del Doge.  The love for planning events filled with whimsical glory, led Sautter to creating Il Ballo del Doge – an international Gala event of the Venice Carnival.  Vanity Fair described the event as “the most sumptuous and exclusive, famous and coveted social event in the world”.  Il Ballo del Doge was a perfect reflection of Sautters’ creativity and eye for design.

As is known, Antonia Sautter’s name incites feelings of artistry, decadence and whimsy.  It is these qualities that have given birth to the amazing upcoming event, Il Ballo del Doge.  This event is happening on Saturday, February 26, 2022.  The event has developed its own reputation since its inception in 1994.  Guests have called it a costume ball, a dinner show, a dance party and so many more titles.  This goes to show that each person that experiences the enchanted night will take with them a unique imprint on their soul – which will only be known to them.  Most certainly, Il Ballo del Doge is a marvelous event with the most decadent costumes worn by the guests, of which are all 1500 creations designed by Antonia Sautter and handmade in the Antonia Sautter Atelier.  This annual event has a different theme each year and each year the guests will have a magical experience in their moment of being fitted into their regalia.  This experience alone is a heart-warming, awe-inspiring moment that will remain with you eternally.  On the whole, this event does not disappoint, and will leave you breathless!

After closing time, when visitors have been pushed out, a guard unlocks the doors of St. Mark’s Basilica for you to explore the city’s most important building completely alone!

Its unparalleled Oriental charm catches the eye of even the most distracted of visitors, testifying to a history almost a thousand years long that has its roots in a glorious past.  The fame of this building, a must destination for all those who visit Venice, annually attracts millions of tourists that inevitably alter the original atmosphere…

Your guide will pick you up directly  at your hotel at 19:30.  The tour will end at a local restaurant close to San Marco (reservation only).

Il Ballo del Doge®

Il Ballo del Doge®  was born in Venice in 1994 and it takes place every year in Venice during the Carnival.  Each year’s edition has a different theme that is inspired by childhood dreams of its designer, Antonia Sautter, fashion stylist and world famous luxury event planner.  

Press, Media and Guests who have partaken of the event during the different editions have defined it as the most sumptuous, refined and exclusive costume ball in the world or even of the hundred things to do in a lifetime. 

These are just some of the definitions the international press has attributed to Il Ballo del Doge®.

Luxury decorations, scenery designed and realized specifically for the theme of each edition, never ending artistic shows with over 100 artists, refined foods and drinks, music, dance and international performers until late at night make Il Ballo del Doge®  a real international event, celebrated by the jet set, celebrities and seekers of dreams.

The Islands of the Lagoon – Lunch included (Full Day)

The relationship between Venice and its lagoon is so profound and unusual: a private water-taxi excursion to discover all the secrets about it and spend a wonderful time.

The Venetian lagoon is the largest lagoon in the Mediterranean and is dotted with dozens of islands: some are inhabited, some sparsely populated, while others are even disappearing.  This private-boat tour is a journey to discover the origins of Venice and the main islands of the North Lagoon: Murano, Burano and Torcello.  The lagoon boat tour is charming in all seasons, mysterious and suggestive in autumn and winter, bright and sparkling in spring and summer. 

The water taxi is very comfortable and you can sit outside and inside.

The private boat tour includes:

• Murano: So famous all over the world for its glass blowing, as well as the glass museum and the old church of San Donato which houses some fantastic mosaics.
• Burano: Cheerful and picturesque with small brightly colored houses.  A wonderful place to spend your time along the narrow streets looking for typical biscuits called “bussola”.
• Torcello: The jewel of the Venetian lagoon, where one can admire the oldest church of the whole area, the basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, and the unique Byzantine mosaics found within.  Santa Maria Assunta Basilica, the nearby Baptistry and the Romanesque church of Santa Fosca create the most impressive architectural complex among the buildings in the lagoon area.
